Hazelnut-Apple Eggnog Cocktail

Servings: Makes 2 cocktails

Prep time: 10 minutes

This boozy eggnog is Oregon-style holiday cheer in a glass. Creamy eggnog, fragrant hazelnut liqueur, and your favorite local brandy combine to make a holiday quaffer your guests will love. Feel free to swap pear brandy in for apple — both are made right here in Oregon and are delicious with eggnog and spice.

Ingredients:

1 cup eggnog

2 oz brandy (such as New Deal or Clear Creek)

1 oz hazelnut liqueur (such as McMenamin’s Phil)

1 oz apple (or pear) brandy

Garnish: a few scratches of nutmeg and freeze-dried apple slices or apple chips

Instructions:

  1. Combine all ingredients except the garnish in a cocktail shaker half-full of ice, shake until thoroughly mixed, and pour into two coupe glasses. Scratch the nutmeg on with a microplane zester and top with an apple chip.
