Matcha Ginger Green Smoothie

A lot of people rave about juices, but superfood smoothies are even better. Not only do they pack in all the antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables of juices, but they add a bunch of protein too. Here matcha adds a bit of energy (and gorgeous green color) without the bitter edge of coffee. Best of all, the active cultures in the yogurt and the fiber of the fruits and vegetables are both great for promoting a healthy gut microbiome. What better way to kick off a new year or the week ahead?
1 cup plain Greek yogurt
1 (packed) cup baby spinach
1 frozen banana, peeled and cut into chunks
¼ cup milk
1 tsp matcha powder
1 tsp grated fresh ginger
1 tbsp honey, maple syrup, or agave
1 tbsp chia seeds
1. Put all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Adjust sweetness to taste, then pour into a glass and enjoy!
